Hawaii

Last week Tyson, Mia and I packed our bags and went to Kona, Hawaii with Tyson's parents, Bre and Chanel. I was a little nervous to take Mia since she is still so little. I know better than to take an infant into busy public places (i.e. an airport) in the middle of cold and flu season! Thankfully, she is not sick.....yet. She slept like a dream on the plane. I wish she would sleep that soundly at home.
We couldn't do much with her in Hawaii since she is still so little but it was nice to be in warm weather to relax. Hopefully she will be big enough next time that we go to Hawaii that she can enjoy it!

Mia sleeping on the plane with Tyson. There is nothing better than a sleeping baby!

First picture of Mia in Hawaii. We had to strip her down because it was so HOT! She was dressed for Utah weather when we left. She was lovin' it!!

Mia kind of happy in the stroller. I thought she would sleep in it while we were out. She had a different agenda that did not include sleep.

This is what I get when I ask Tyson to dress the baby. Those are her pants on her head.

My First Post

I have finally broken down and decided to join the world of blogging. Thanks to my blogger support, Emily Kennedy who helped my computer illiterate self figure out how the hell to set up this blog! Since I refuse to make a facebook page ;), this will have to serve the purpose of updating everyone on our expanding family. Mia was obviously the main reason I decided to finally start a blog. She is the most interesting and entertaining thing in our lives. Since she is now 7 weeks old, I will have to do a little catch up with pictures, sorry.

She was born on December 22 at 7:51 pm. My water had broken that morning but my stubborn nature made me deny what was happening and I went into work anyways. Needless to say, I ended up leaving work mid-morning to go to the hospital. The delivery was fairly uneventful except for my epidural that didn't work. I now kind of know how it would feel to have a baby with no drugs- no thanks!!

Her first day home was eventful. She came home on Christmas Eve. Luckily, my mom and older sister were here to help Tyson and me. I though that my Dad would not see her until after the new year, but he surprised us all that night when he drove from Pocatello and showed up to our house unexpectedly. He just couldn't wait to see his first granddaughter! He is happy to be a grandfather but couldn't resist the pediatrician in him and did a full exam of our new little girl. She checked out perfectly!

The first night Mia was home neither Tyson nor I slept. We made the mistake of putting the baby monitor in our room even though her room is just steps away from ours. Neither one of us slept because we would jump at every noise she made. The night was made even more interesting when the power went out. We ended up camping out by the fireplace until the power came back on. Mia and Tyson slept together by the fireplace to keep warm. I took advantage of the quite time and went back to bed for a couple hours of quiet sleep!
